How to apply as an international student

Applying to Middlesex is a quick and easy process, and we’re here to help you each step of the way. How you apply will depend on your level of study.

Important information for international students

Undergraduate - Year 1

Successful completion of minimum one year's bachelor's from a recognised university with a minimum 65%.

Postgraduate

  • Applicants with a four-year undergraduate degree (for example, BA/BSC Hons) can apply for direct entry onto a postgraduate course.
  • 2:2 honours degree or above:
    4 year BA/BSc with min 2.5 GPA or MA/MSc 2nd Division (min 62.5% following a 2 year BA/BSc)
  • 2:1 honours degree or above:
  • 4 year BA/BSc with min 3.0 GPA or MA/MSc 1st Division (above 75% following a 2 year BA/BSc)

For the MBA, all candidates must satisfy stringent criteria, which include a minimum of two years years' work experience at middle management level after undergraduate study and demonstration of an ability to undertake the demanding course.

An Edexcel level 7 diploma may also lead to a Middlesex postgraduate degree.

You must also meet our standard English Language Requirements.

Regional Award for Pakistan Nationals

We offer a £1,000 Regional Award to nationals of Pakistan.

Other scholarships

You can also apply for the British Government's Chevening Scholarships, and a variety of private agencies and charities for scholarships, bursaries and grants to study in the UK. For more information visit the British Council website or the UK Council for International Student Affairs website.

The following requirements must be met in order for your visa application to be successful:

Middlesex requirements

  • Attend our visa preparation webinar hosted by our International Student Advice team
  • Attend and successfully pass a screening interview with your Regional Office
  • Attend and successfully pass a visa preparation interview with the International Student Advice team
  • Submit finance documents to Middlesex
  • Pay your tuition fee deposit

Once you have completed the above items successfully, a CAS will be issued.

UKVI Requirements

  • Submit an online application through the UKVI website. You will need to submit your valid CAS, payment of the visa fee and immigration health surcharge
  • Upload the relevant supporting documents (passport, academic documents, evidence of meeting or being exempt from English language requirements, evidence of meeting financial requirements, ATAS certificate if required, TB test certificate if required)
  • Biometric data collected at the visa application centre
  • You must be able to provide evidence that you can meet the finance requirements if asked to do so, but you do not need to provide this evidence at the time of application.

Successful applicants will receive an Entry Clearance vignette in their passport and will be able to collect their Biometric Residence permit in the UK.
