How to apply as an international student

Applying to Middlesex is a quick and easy process, and we’re here to help you each step of the way. How you apply will depend on your level of study.

Important information for international students

Undergraduate - Year 1

The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education is acceptable and the University will award tariff points up to a maximum of six subjects taken as part of the Diploma. We accept the full International Baccalaureate diploma. In some cases, applicants will also need to have studied certain subjects at Standard or Higher Level.

Undergraduate - Year 2 and 3

Students completing Higher Diplomas and Associate Degrees at recognised institutions will be eligible for direct entry to the second or third year of relevant Middlesex University degree courses.

Postgraduate

We require successful completion of a Bachelors degree equivalent to a UK second class honours degree (2:2). Students with Grade 4 in English A1 (Standard or Higher), Grade 4 in English B (Higher) or Grade 5 in English B (Standard) will meet our English language requirements.

See other accepted English language qualifications. Graduates of Hong Kong based universities may be exempt from English language requirements.

Other rewards

Holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Passports need to meet the same requirements as other Chinese Citizens.

Holders of British National (Overseas) passports wishing to study in the UK can do so on either a Student Route visa or a BN(O) visa.

If you apply for a study route visa, you must present all the usual documents, with the exception of financial records, which must be provided only if requested.
