Canadian Student Grants and Loans
As a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can apply for a provincial student loan through the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) to help cover your fees and living costs.
If you are an applicant, you can send your provincial form to usloans@mdx.ac.uk.
We are pleased to offer a range of international scholarships and merit awards to international students. Visit our scholarships page for a list of all scholarships that international students may be eligible for.
If you're a talented student, you may be eligible for either our Regional or International Merit Award, which rewards students with up to £2,000 towards course fees for all taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
We also have a limited number of £5,000 Academic Excellence Scholarship Awards available to North and South American students who have demonstrated high levels of academic excellence in their previous studies. Visit our scholarships page for a list of all other Middlesex scholarships you may be eligible for.
How to apply
Students are only eligible to receive one scholarship award. The awards are for full undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses. Students must have applied to Middlesex and received an offer before they can apply for any of these scholarship awards. To apply, please use our online application form.
Federal and Provincial Student Loans In some instances, it is possible to use Canada Federal Student Loans and Provincial Student Loans for study in the UK. In order to qualify for Canadian loans, you must demonstrate your financial need. Federal loans are handled through a lender called the National Student Loans Service Centre and Provincial loans are handled through the provincial governments and student aid branches.
You can find detailed information on the financial aid process from the Campus Access website. Your loans will not be processed by Middlesex University. However, we are able to verify your student status and/or confirm your acceptance onto a course if required for your financial aid disbursement. If you need us to do so, please email our Student Loans Manager, Sue Day.
Other scholarships
You can also apply for the British Government's Chevening Scholarships, and a variety of private agencies and charities for scholarships, bursaries and grants to study in the UK. For more information visit the British Council website or the UK Council for International Student Affairs website.
