About your course

About your course

Alongside building effective business skills, you'll develop your knowledge of organisations, their functions, structure and management. You'll also study the operations of organisations as well as the models and techniques used to achieve successful results. During the course, you'll study two compulsory modules designed to advance your skills and knowledge in topics fundamental to managerial decision making. The Entrepreneurship and Small Business module provides an excellent foundation for setting up and running your own business. You'll also choose four optional modules in a range of different areas so you can tailor your studies to your interests. Choose three modules from the optional modules list.

This module provides a managerial perspective into managing the strategy, structure and operations of multinational corporations (MNCs) in the global business environment. Major managerial and functional issues are studied from the MNC’s perspective and the problems of planning and executing business strategies on a global scale are developed.

This module aims to help you learn decision-making skills by evaluating options, weighing risks and rewards, and making informed choices in a dynamic and competitive business setting by fostering a comprehensive understanding of strategic management theory in changing operational contexts.

The module further aims to develop your ability to communicate business strategy and firm performance to key stakeholders via the application of cross-functional knowledge and evaluation of market trends, competitor behaviour and internal resources and capabilities to identify potential competitive advantage.

This module aims to engage students with the multifaceted aspects of the work environment through the lens of psychological theories and principles. Central to the module is a focus on the interplay of emotions, attitudes, and behaviours in driving individual, team, and organisational performance. The module discusses leadership theories and their practical execution, equipping you with the insights to effectively lead, influence and inspire individuals and teams.

This module aims to provide you with practical experience in applying business concepts, theories, and skills to real-world business contexts. You will work individually on a project to identify, analyse, and propose solutions to a specific business problem. Through hands-on experience, you will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills essential for success in business management.
