Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust

This is a Middlesex University courses and qualification, jointly developed, delivered and assessed by Middlesex and Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust , and quality assured by Middlesex University.

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust has been a registered charity since 2004. Parented by Watford Football Club we work across five key themes; Sports Participation, Social Inclusion, Health, Education and Community Facilities. The Trust currently works in partnership with central government, local authorities, schools, key stakeholder groups, football authorities such as the Premier League and the FA in delivering a range of community focused projects to the local community.

There is an increasing demand for more football specific qualified employees as football in the UK continues to grow at a rapid rate. Many more professional football clubs are creating Trusts and Foundations which require skilled people who are not only able to coach football but to apply for funding, work with people from a range of backgrounds, abilities and demographics and have a wider understanding of how Football Development can positively impact other key agendas such as health, education, employment and anti-social behaviour. The FdA Football Development & Coaching has been designed to fill that gap by offering an applied approach to learning with work placements that will allow students to gain real-life, industry experience.
