Current Teaching

As the Program Leader for the MSc in Cardiology, I am deeply committed to advancing the field through rigorous academic instruction and active engagement in student development. I oversee a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with a profound understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of cardiology. My teaching spans from Level 4 to Level 7, encompassing a variety of modules that include Professional Practice, Cardiac and Respiratory Theory, Cardiac Anatomy and Physiology, Dissertation guidance, Cardiac Ultrasound, and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.

My role as a leader extends beyond program coordination, as I am actively involved in mentoring postgraduate research students. I guide their research, helping them to develop innovative approaches and insights into complex cardiovascular conditions. My aim is to foster a learning environment that not only imparts essential knowledge but also inspires a passion for scholarly inquiry and clinical excellence in the field of cardiology.


Biography

With more than 20 years of specialised experience, I am an accomplished Clinical Physiologist, holding postgraduate qualifications and a dual role as an Advanced Practitioner in Clinical Cardiac Physiology and a Senior Lecturer. My expertise spans cardiorespiratory and neuroscience diagnostics and exercise physiology, underpinned by a profound knowledge of medical diagnostics, clinical trials, and sports injury rehabilitation. I have a strong track record in managing clinical studies, from establishing robust project systems to defining and achieving trial objectives. My ability to interpret complex data and outcomes ensures the success and advancement of clinical research and practical application in healthcare.
