Research activities

Research Interests:

I specialize in Behavioral Economics, Industrial Organization, and Organizational Economics. My research combines theoretical models with empirical tests, including field experiments and randomized controlled trials (RCTs), to answer complex economic questions.

Behavioral Economics: I examine the psychological factors affecting economic choices, focusing on how these can be leveraged or manipulated in both consumer and firm contexts.Industrial Organization: My work investigates strategic interactions between firms and consumers, especially how firms use pricing strategies like three-part tariffs to influence consumer behavior.

Organizational Economics: I explore the interplay between managerial practices and market forces, aiming to understand how organizational structures impact strategic decisions.

By linking theory with practice, my research contributes to academic discussions and has real-world policy implications.

Current Teaching

I am committed to delivering high-quality education in economics and management, with a focus on fostering critical thinking and real-world application. I have extensive teaching experience in the following courses:

Research Interests:

My work predominantly explores the intricate ways in which consumers and firms interact, particularly in contexts where traditional economic models fall short. Currently, I am investigating how firms strategically manage consumer learning to optimize pricing structures, a relatively understudied area in behavioral industrial organization.

Selected Publications:

Risk and time preferences: This paper, co-authored with Tomomi Tanaka and Colin Camerer, was published in the American Economic Review. In this study, we bridge experimental data with household surveys to provide nuanced insights into risk and time preferences in Vietnam.

Promoting adoption of management practices: Published in the Journal of Operations Management, this paper in collaboration with Kim Trang, In this study, we employs randomized field experiments to shed light on the external factors that influence management practices.
