Current Teaching

Anne is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is Module leader on postgraduate: Research Methods, Independent Project, Professional Placement. She is a PhD Director of Studies/supervisor. Present projects include: Exercise for carers of Alzheimer's sufferers in UK and Slovenia, Developing a national exercise programme for Parkinson's sufferers in UK Care Homes, Developing a national physical activity strategy for metabolic syndrome in the UAE 

Pedagogic interests - Developing practitioner knowledge through reflective consideration of practice and integrating tacit knowledge with new knowledge in taught modules. The amalgamated new knowledge base is then applied to student’s research capacity.


Biography

Anne Elliott is a senior lecturer in Sport Science and specialises in Exercise for chronic disease and healthy ageing. She is research active in healthy ageing, specialising in exercise in middle age and applied embodiment. She consults in a small specialist practice and is regularly in the press and media talking about exercise in middle age. Previous books have been endorsed by the Minister of State for Health and senior NHS professionals. She brings a wide experience of Industry to her pedagogy.
