Research activities

Ann-Ngoc main expertise are in corporate finance, risk management in banking and investment, financial markets and institutions, and financial modelling with particular interests on (but not limited to) the following topics on: Executive pay disparity, gender pay disparity; Insider trading; Stock market crash risk,  Earnings management; Public policy impacts on firm performance; Mergers and Acquisitions; Market response to corporate disclosures. Ann-Ngoc publications are in Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Economic Studies; Journal of Risk and Financial Management.

Biography

Ann-Ngoc currently hold the position of Senior Lecturer in Finance at Middlesex University. Prior to this role, she was awarded a number of prestigious scholarships from commercial and governmental institutions. One of these awards was for her Master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University Graduate School of Advanced International Studies, and one was for her Doctorate in Finance from Brunel University.

Ann-Ngoc has designed and delivered courses in Applied Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, Investment Valuation, Derivatives, Financial Econometrics. She also taught professional courses to executives working in the oil and gas companies on Financial Risk Management.

She supervised a number of PhD students many of whom have secured lectureship positions at universities in the UK. Recently she has taken part in a review panel for the textbook "Corporate Finance," the 6th Global Edition authored by Jonathan Berk and Peter DeMarzo.
